Rainforest Introduction Location Importance And Images Collection

Introduction:

Tropical rainforests are forests with tall trees, warm climates and lots of rain. In some rainforests it rains more than one inch nearly every day of the year.Rainforests now cover less than 6% of Earth's land surface. Scientists estimate that more than half of all the world's plant and animal species live in tropical rain forests.

A tropical rain forest has more kinds of trees than any other area in the world. Scientists have counted about 100 to 300 species in one 2 1/2-acre (1-hectare) area in South America. Seventy percent of the plants in the rainforest are trees.

About 1/4 of all the medicines we use come from rainforest plants. Curare comes from a tropical vine, and is used as an anesthetic and to relax muscles during surgery. Quinine from the cinchona tree is used to treat malaria. A person with lymphocytic leukemia has a 99% chance that the disease will go into remission because of the rosy periwinkle. More than 1,400 varieties of tropical plants are thought to be potential cures for cancer.

Rainforests Are Found:

The tropical rain forest can be found in three major geographical areas around the world.
1.  Central America in the the Amazon river basin.
2.  Africa to Zaire basin with a small area in West Africa  also eastern Madagascar.
3. Indo Malaysia , west coast of India, Assam, Southeast Asia, New Guinea and Queensland  Australia.

Other countries that have large areas of rainforest include Bolivia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Ecuador, Gabon, Guyana,Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Congo, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Many Plants And Animals Have In Rainforest Due To:

1.  Climate:

Rainforests are located in tropical regions, they receive a lot of sunlight. The sunlight is converted to energy by plants through the process of photosynthesis. Since there is a lot of sunlight, there is a lot of energy in the rainforest. This energy is stored in plant vegetation, which is eaten by animals. The abundance of energy supports an abundance of plant and animal species.

Canopy:

The canopy structure of the rainforest provides an abundance of places for plants to grow and animals to live. The canopy offers sources of food, shelter, and hiding places, providing for interaction between different species. For example, there are plants in the canopy called bromeliads that store water in their leaves. Frogs and other animals use these pockets of water for hunting and laying their eggs.

Importance Of The Rainforest:

The beauty, majesty, and timelessness of a primary rainforest are indescribable. It is impossible to capture on film, to describe in words or to explain to those who have never had the awe-inspiring experience of standing in the heart of a primary rainforest.

Rainforests have evolved over millions of years to turn into the incredibly complex environments they are today. Rainforests represent a store of living and breathing renewable natural resources that for eons, by virtue of their richness in both animal and plant species, have contributed a wealth of resources for the survival and well-being of humankind.

Catctus Plant: Use And Very Beautiful Images Collection

Introduction Of Cactus Plant:

Cactus is a kind of plant. The plural of cactus can be cacti or cactuses or cactus. In science all genera of cacti (as the whole) are named Cactaceae.

Cacti first came from North America or South America. Many people like to grow cactus in pots or gardens. Now cacti have spread to many other parts of the world.

Many cacti live in dry places, such as deserts. Most cacti have and sharp thorns (stickers) and thick skin. There are many shapes and sizes of cacti. Some are short and round; others are tall and thin. Many cactus flowers are big and beautiful. Some cactus flowers bloom at night and are pollinated by moths and bats. Some cactus fruits are brightly coloured and good to eat. Goats, birds, ants, mice, bats and people eat cactus fruits.

Use:

A cactus may be used for decoration, as the main colorful, vegetative form in a desert environment. It may be used for drink, such as tequila. It may be used for employment, such as the crew of pollinators that make cactus fruits and seeds possible from cactus flowers. It may be used for environmental health, through the carbon dioxide that it takes in and the oxygen that it releases through its stomata, or breathing pores. It may be used for people and wildlife finding their way, through its landmark forms in the monotonous desert environment. It may be used for food, such as the berries and vegetables that the prickly pear cactus [Opuntia spp] offers. It may be used for making money, such as through the dyes that are produced by cochineal insects(Dactylopius coccus) on the prickly pear cactus. It may be used for shelter, such as the nesting cavities that the giant saguaro cactus [Carnegiea gigantea] offers to the Gila woodpecker (Melanerpes uropygialis). It may be used for soil and water conservation, through its soil holding and water intaking roots. It may be used for tools, such as the living fences that people make from any columnar cactus plant.

Fruits So Sweat And Lovely Gardens Image Collection

Care Of Apple Tree:

1. Water young trees regularly, especially those on semi-dwarfing or dwarfing rootstocks, to ensure that the root system becomes well established.
2. Renew the mulch periodically, but pull it away from the tree in the fall so mice don't nest over the winter and eat the bark.
3. Begin training trees to their permanent framework in the first season.
4. Prune bearing trees annually.
5. The harvest season ranges from midsummer to late fall, depending on the variety.
6. To avoid pulling out the stem when you harvest, cup the apple in your hand, tilt it upward, and twist to separate it from the spur at the point of attachment.

Care Of Strawberry:

1. First year, spring: Keep the bed free of weeds. Pick off blossoms to prevent fruiting and encourage production of healthy daughter plants.
2. Late spring: 5 to 6 weeks after planting, train daughter plants to take root in a 9-by-9-inch spaced row system.
3. Late spring and summer: Side-dress with ammonium nitrate (1/2 pound per 100-foot row), 5-10-10 (2 1/2 pounds per 100-foot row), or manure tea (1/2 to 1 pint per plant). Side-dress again 1 month later.
Late fall: After a few freezes, mulch with 5 to 6 inches of straw or 4 to 5 inches of pine needles.
4. Second year, late spring: Remove the mulch gradually in spring, but protect blossoms from late frost with covers of mulch, if needed. Provide 1 inch of water per week while the fruit is developing, through harvest.
5. Cover the patch with tobacco cloth or strawberry netting to keep birds out.
6. Summer: After harvest, till the plants under, plant a cover crop, and prepare the bed for new plants next spring.

Care Of Grapes Tree:

1. Prune the top back to two or three buds at planting time and follow the first-year training steps.
2. Prune annually when the vines are dormant according to the training system you select.
3. Do not fertilize unless the soil is very poor or the plants show poor foliage color or signs of nutrient deficiencies.
4. Cultivate shallowly around the base of plants to control weeds.
5. Drape netting over vines to prevent birds from destroying your harvest.

Care Of Pear Tree:

1.  Pears do best with a small amount of fertilizer early in the year. Heavy doses of nitrogen will make the tree more vulnerable to fire blight.
2.  Use spreaders to encourage horizontal branching and earlier fruiting spurs.

Natural Trees Very Beautiful Collection Of Pictures

Care Of Natural Tree:

Never fertilize trees with chemical fertilizers. Use only certified organic products.
Trees require regular watering. Use a drip system whenever possible.
Always use filtered or solarized or well water. Never use chlorine contain or some other chemical that can poison the trees.
Raise the energy level of the tree thru the addition of compost rich in trace minerals and bacteria. Trees love rock Dust.
Don't cut down trees.
Protect trees from dogs. Dog urine is very acidic and will injure the tree's root system.
Cultivate the soil regularly. The soil will get packed so that water and air may not reach the roots. While you do not need to turn the soil over, it would be good to use a pointed tool to punch a hole into the ground at least 1 or 2 feet deep. This will allow air to reach down as well as by placing compost into it, also allow nutrition to reach root systems. Tree vents are excellent for this use.
Do not poison the soil. Avoid spilling gasoline, paint, salt etc...
Remove any tight wire supports as this will strangle the tree as it grows.
Plant ground covers. They make a great living mulch which conserves water.
